Character Concept :: Fiona

Still experimenting with making canines retain their, er... canineness? while still looking relatably human. The only fur on her so far is just the tail, but I'm not sure I'll be keeping that (her head design may make the lack of a tail look awkward?) I'm experimenting. I like her face a lot, I just need to dick with the proportions a little. I'll probably reprint this on the same page and take another stab at it.

Recent outage due to a spat of horrible ickfucknastybody stupidity. I'm getting better, thankfully.

  1. You're fortunate with something canine-y, in that dogs and humans already share a lot of common body language. More than chimps to be honest, and chimps are our cousins, practically!

    I think you could omit the tail and retain at least a suggestion of caninity, although you could also perhaps accent it a little somehow; a suggestion of muscle up the spine perhaps.

    In general this is a very expressive piece, however I do have a moment of minor critique. Her arms are cocked rather strangely and the entire posture looks slightly awkward -- which doesn't mean it's wrong, and I'm sorry I can't quantify it more clearly. Indeed, it might well be quite accurate, since the 'hands on hips and leaning halfway back to look at someone' pose is in fact a little awkward. It does make her look extremely slim, though, which of course may also be accurate.

    As for keeping a distinctly caniney touch I suppose the 'nosepad' hint you have here works, especially if it actually is clearly mottled/black in a lot of people. The ears on their own suggest the fantastic but not necessarily specifically 'doggy'.

    As for the body stuff, e-hugs and positive energy flows.
